Data we collect in the app

Data you create in the app

• Hydration logs, including amount, drink type, and timestamp
• Hydration goal and schedule settings
• Unit preference and app preferences

This data supports core app functionality such as progress tracking, reminders, history, and widget or watch sync.

Health data

If you grant HealthKit permission, SipSync may read step count, active calories, workouts, and heart-rate-related signals used for activity-aware hydration guidance. Health data is only used to power hydration features inside the app.

Analytics and diagnostics

SipSync uses PostHog for product analytics and Sentry for crash or runtime diagnostics. These tools may process events such as screen views, drink actions, onboarding progress, subscription interactions, stack traces, app version, operating system version, and limited technical context related to failures.

Data we collect on the website

Waitlist emails

If you submit the marketing site waitlist form, we collect your email address, the submission source, and the time of submission so we can send launch updates, beta availability, or product announcements related to SipSync.

Waitlist submissions are stored in Cloudflare D1 and are only used for SipSync communications. We do not sell this information.

Third-party services

SipSync relies on service providers such as PostHog, Sentry, RevenueCat, Cloudflare, and Apple platform services including HealthKit, WidgetKit, and WatchConnectivity. Each provider processes data under its own terms and privacy commitments.

How we use data

• Operate hydration tracking, reminders, and sync
• Provide activity-aware hydration targets for users who enable HealthKit
• Improve reliability, performance, and feature quality
• Send website waitlist and product launch communications

Data sharing

We do not sell personal data. We only share data with service providers needed to run SipSync and the SipSync website, subject to contractual and platform controls.

Retention

We retain data for as long as needed to operate the service, troubleshoot issues, send requested waitlist communications, and satisfy legal obligations.

Your choices

• You can decline HealthKit permissions at any time.
• You can disable notifications in iOS Settings.
• You can stop using the app and delete app data from your device.
• You can unsubscribe from waitlist or marketing emails at any time.

Children

SipSync is not directed to children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the product, legal requirements, or data processors change. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated effective date.
